Job Description

DuPont has an immediate opening for an experienced Electrical & Instrument Mechanic at our Towanda, PA site. The E&I Mechanic will utilize strong knowledge of components and systems to maintain and repair electrical equipment including conveyors, pumps, motors, blowers, fans, compressors, etc. Duties must comply with company, department, and safety policies. Work involves voltages up to 480V under NFPA 70E guidance. Equipment includes PLCs, electronic and pneumatic loop control systems, instrumentation transmitters (flow, pressure, temperature, level, dewpoint), photo-eyes, ultrasonic sensors, motor starters, electric motors, variable frequency drives, and uninterrupted power supplies. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing Process Control Instrumentation loops, industrial electrical equipment, servicing programmable controllers and distributed control systems, maintaining web thickness measuring systems, performing planned preventative maintenance and routine calibration, using safety procedures and PPE, mentoring others, providing process automation support, participating in reliability improvement activities and on-call duties, redlining electrical drawings, supporting design and installation of instruments and control systems, preparing orders for spare parts, consulting with supervisors and coordinating outside resources, and using SAP for materials management. Qualifications require a High School Diploma or GED, minimum five years relevant experience or a 2-year technical degree or completion of an apprentice program, ability to wear PPE, lift up to 50 pounds, work shifts and overtime, and participate in Emergency Response Team. Preferred qualifications include experience with electronic and instrument control systems, pneumatics knowledge, Instrumentation Technical Training Certificate, and NFPA-70E electrical safety training. Physical requirements include standing, walking, twisting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, or climbing for extended periods. Shift schedule is 12-hour rotating shifts with day and night shifts. Base pay starts at $34.37/hour for day shift and $35.46/hour for rotating shifts with additional pay incentives.
