The City of Industry, CA paper mill has an opening for an experienced maintenance millwright. The millwright is responsible for corrective and preventative work on all plant mechanical equipment while observing and following all safety regulations with required PPE. Responsibilities include ensuring the integrity and reliability of the plant’s mechanical systems and equipment including conveyors, gearboxes, boilers, pumps, bearings rolls, piping, pulpers and other mechanical equipment; welding of all types of metals using stick or TIG methods; maintaining mechanical equipment to meet regulatory codes of OSHA and CalOSHA policy; performing rigging activities, safety-related functions and other miscellaneous mechanical functions; demonstrating safe and proficient use of shop tools (both hand and power); familiarity with preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance functions; demonstrating mechanical knowledge; safely utilizing forklifts, boom lifts, and scissor lifts; performing work from ladders, scaffolding, and roof to install, maintain, or repair mechanical equipment; filling out work order documentation and participating in post failure analysis; performing duties in a work environment that will be hot, cold, dirty, and fast paced; general support of the Maintenance department including troubleshooting, call-ins, shift rotation, unscheduled overtime, 12-hour shifts, scheduled and emergency repairs, shutdown and outage work, projects, and working after hours during equipment downtime. Applicants should have a minimum of five years of industrial maintenance experience and be able to diagnose and maintain equipment using hand, power, and precision measuring tools. Candidates must be able to work in a diverse and safe work environment and provide the same for others.
