Ava’s House is a 20-bed inpatient acute hospice facility. We care for adult and pediatric patients and have cared for patients ranging from the age of one day old to over 100 years old. Our interdisciplinary team is made up of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, patient care techs, social workers, pharmacists, volunteer representatives, and chaplains. Our facility focuses on symptom management and maintaining comfort and dignity at end of life. We provide 24-hour care and could be considered a “Hospice ICU”.
Our department works closely with all inpatient units, especially medical oncology. Medical oncology staff care for our patients until they are able to be transferred to Ava's House.

Whether you’re a newly graduated registered nurse or have years of experience as an RN, we want someone willing to work closely with our nursing leaders to advance the organization. Plans and coordinates patient care, assessment, education, triage and various other nursing interventions
Collaborates with colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care
Empathetically cares for patients during all stages of preventive services, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up along the continuum of care
Demonstrates competency and uses comprehensive nursing expertise
Graduate from an accredited nursing program required, including, but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.
Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
